The hourly pay rate for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Akaal Pet Hospital is a long-standing general practice hospital with deep ties to the community, located in beautiful Citrus Heights, California. We value compassionate, high-quality veterinary care for pets, and provide excellent client service in an upbeat and fun working environment. Our animal medical facility provides quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family.

Who We're Looking For

We are currently looking to hire a Veterinary Technician to join our team The ideal candidate will have:
  • Operate radiographic equipment and positioning
  • Administer medications
  • Apply or change bandages
  • Draw blood and run lab tests (in-house and send out labs)
  • Fill medication
  • Take vitals (TPR)
  • Take history from the client for patient exams
  • Have good knowledge of the latest parasiticides
  • Administer vaccinations
  • Give subcutaneous fluids
  • And all other tasks of a Veterinary Assistant

Requirements:
  • 1+ years of veterinary experience
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint

  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
