Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Position Specific Performance Expectations:


o Assists with preparing and compounding sterile IV preparations, including Chemotherapy.
o Provides accurate, consistent, customer focused patient care.
o Positive and supportive team member to Pharmacy Department.
o Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation efforts.
o Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately.
o Works cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.
o Handles frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
o Sets priorities, makes critical decisions, and responds quickly to emergency requests.
o Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation efforts.
o Strives to ensure continual compliance with Departmental and Hospital policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations.
o Develops and maintains departmental policies.
o Supports new pharmacy programs which include but not limited to: Infusion Clinic, Anticoagulation Clinic, CPOE, USP 797, Bar Code Technology, and other hospital wide initiatives and implementation affecting the Pharmacy Department.
o Coordinates, strengthens and integrates Pharmaceutical Technologies (exp: Alaris, USP 797, Pyxis, CII Safe and EPIC).
o Provides for the educational needs of pharmacy staff and other health care professionals.
o Works with nursing service and other departments that deliver medications to ensure safe delivery.
o Maintains active institutional licensure requirements of Colorado State Board of Pharmacy.
o Assists the hospital to monitor and report Drug Utilization information, adverse drug reactions and medication administration events.
o Assists in after-hours Pharmacy call and vacation coverage.
o Performs other duties as assigned.

Secondary Duties
o Completes annual education, training, in-service, and certification requirements; attends departmental staff meetings or reads meeting minutes.
o Maintains regulatory requirements.
o Responsible for maintaining required licenses and certifications.
o Performs other duties as assigned.

o Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication and good working relationships with all patients, staff and vendors.
o Utilizes initiative; strives to maintain steady level of productivity; self-motivated; manages activity and time.
o Actively participates in departmental and facility performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
o Must be at least 21 years of age.
o Must be able to legally work in the United States.
o Must be able to pass a background check.
o Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
o Must complete employee health meeting.

Education/Licensure/Certification:
o Unencumbered License/Certification for State of Colorado (or license eligible within stated timeframe.)
o Current BLS or ACLS.

Experience:
o Hours as required for Pharmacy License.

Position Classification: Non-exempt

Compensation Range: Starting at $55.72 to $83.58
