A Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse is needed for our hospital to work within the nursing process to provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership for other staff and assume relief charge duties when designated. You will serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care while ensuring adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.   • Patient Care: Delivers safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required.
  • Care Plan: Works in collaboration with the healthcare team, implements and documents individualized care plans incorporating age specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
  • Emergency Measures: Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients.
  • Medication: Administers medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights; documents and communicates clinical findings.
  • Development: Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops.
  • Patient Safety: Follows patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as demonstrates a proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning current policies and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Education An essential program graduate from a nationally accredited nursing graduate program.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Credentials: A current NM RN license and a CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers certification.
  • Physical Conditions: Heavy Work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
  • Working Conditions: Signature hazards include working with chemicals and bio-hazardous materials requiring PPE.
