Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead SDET to join our team. As a Lead SDET, you will be responsible for leading the software development testing efforts and ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You will work closely with the development teams and other stakeholders to define testing strategies, develop test plans, and execute automated and manual tests. Furthermore, this position will be responsible for driving the development of mission critical software tools as well as aid in the adoption of automated testing across Software Quality Assurance department. As part of a small, focused, and motivated team within SQA, use Software Development best practices to implement well-designed, reliable, and extensible tools that profoundly impact the quality/efficiency of game software delivery. The ideal candidate will be innovative, organized, a self-starter with excellent communication skills, and have proficiency in Microsoft and Web Technologies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead and manage a team of SDETs, providing guidance and support in all aspects of software testing
  • Design and develop web-based tools and automation framework to support SQA organization
  • Define and implement the overall testing strategy and approach for our products
  • Independently perform research and suggest appropriate technologies to be utilized for newer tools
  • Assist with issue resolution in the area of Tools/Automation utilizing Jira defect management system
  • Enhance existing code/ databases to carry out necessary upgrades and maintenance functions
  • Follow existing process for Tools development and propose enhancements to improve quality/efficiency
  • Continue to pursue open source or commercial technologies to compliment Tools/Automation efforts
  • Interface with SQA and other departments to effectively communicate and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate the functional, performance, and reliability of our software products
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing and quality assurance
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the SQA Department on special projects
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with software testing methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Establish key contacts in various organizations that have a direct impact on Tools and Automation
  • Mentor and guide new Associates and Tools/Automation Engineers.
Requirements

Qualifications:

Academic or working experience with C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Entity Framework

Academic or working experience with JavaScript frameworks, HTML5, CSS3

Academic or working experience with MS SQL Server

Academic or working experience with Python scripting language

Proficiency with Visual Studio and other Microsoft applications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
Required Experience:
  • 5+ years of relevant programming or Tools/ Automation development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of computer operation and principles of computer hardware
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Web Technologies
  • Solid understanding of agile software development practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
  • Knowledge or experience in scripting languages such as Python
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
