Minimum :115k- Maximum120k Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, certification, shift or location. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Requirements

* Graduate from an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) Program, or equivalent as approved by the New York State Education Department
* New York State License Physician Assistant
* Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant
* Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS),
* New York State mandated Infection Control Course certificate
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Description

* Assesses patient health by interview and by obtaining and/or updating medical history. Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
* Performs physical examinations and provides treatment and counseling. Recognizes and evaluates patients who require the immediate attention of a physician and, when necessary, initiates emergency medical treatment.
* Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory studies. Follows-up on x-rays and laboratory data. Interprets diagnostic test results.
* Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, post-operative care and management of wound care and infections. Utilizes diagnostic techniques, such as observation, palpation, percussion or auscultation.
* Counsels patients regarding prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.
* Maintains accurate and complete patient records. Develops and implements patient management plans, records procedure and progress notes and discharge summaries, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
* Responds to consult requests as per assignment by physician
* Monitors patients on inpatient floors and submits orders as appropriate
* Maintains a safe and clean work environment by ensuring compliance with infection-control policies and protocols and other safety procedures and regulations.
* Develops and provides education related to pre and post-operative evaluation and treatment plans.
* Provides oversight of all surgical cases related to scheduling and medical clearance.
* Provides assistance to physicians during surgery or complicated medical procedures.
* Completes clinical office paperwork on behalf of physician i.e. disability forms, medication authorizations etc.
* Prescribes medication, communicates with pharmacies and obtains necessary authorizations
* Submits billing for services performed.
* Participates in departmental Quality Assurance projects

Special Requirements

Spanish Speaking required. Ability to work with a number of physicians and quality team to work on Healthcare Hedis measures and patient outreach
