Job Description:
- Utilize the ANA Nursing Process to collect comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health and situation.
- Analyze the assessment data to determine diagnosis or issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer's situation.
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan and ensure patient progression along the plan.
- Coordinate care delivery.
- Employ strategies for health teaching and health promotion to promote health and a safe environment.
- Provide consultation to influence the identified plan, enhance the abilities of others, and effect change.
- Evaluate progress toward the attainment of outcomes.
- Follow the ANA Standards of Professional Performance to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Attain knowledge and competency reflecting current nursing practice.
- Evaluate personal nursing practice concerning professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice.
- Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
- Integrate research findings into practice.
- Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in planning and delivering nursing services.
