Job Summary:

The Network Security Engineer is responsible for firewalls, routers, switches and related content delivery systems. The Network Security Engineer will ensure appropriate system resources and configuration are in place to support secure enterprise solutions.

What you will be doing:
  • Identifies security risks and develops solutions to eliminate or minimize risks.
  • Leads in evaluating and identifying ways to automate, streamline and improve otherwise manual functions.
  • Provides operational support such as training and documentation.
  • Forward thinking to identify upcoming trends and security best practices on the network.
  • Responsible for up-time, reliability, stability and policy maintenance of supported systems.
  • Facilitates automation wherever possible to create efficiencies and eliminate errors.
  • Support the creation of organizational wide standards for security and network infrastructure products.
  • Develop and drive standardization of routers, switches, firewalls, remote VPN connectivity, VoIP/IP telephony technologies and wireless technologies.
  • Oversee the entire life cycle of technology solutions acquired including budgetary expense planning and procurement lifecycles.
  • Develop standards and oversees deployment of centralized network-based threat management systems including Intrusion Detection Systems, Application Firewalls and Web Application Firewalls.
  • Serve as an escalation point for emergencies as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Security and/or Networking preferred.
  • Security certifications a plus.
  • Network certifications a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • This is primarily and onsite position supporting our LAN/WAN network and users from our offices in Renton WA. Periodic Travel to regional offices including our Corp office in Kent will be required.
  • Travel to worksite locations may be required (10%).
