Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist

Position Summary: The Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates patients and provides appropriate treatments to improve or restore function. This position also participates in interdisciplinary approaches for in servicing and community education, as well as clinical education of affiliating students.

Education/Certification:

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Speech Language Pathology with a minimum of a M.S.
  • Holds or is eligible for current state license
  • Eligible, or has a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association

Competencies: Strong English communication skills, basic personal computer skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluates patients based on departmental standards
  2. Conducts and modifies evaluations based on the patient's symptoms and medical status
  3. Treats patients with appropriate therapeutic techniques
  4. Administers physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to attain established goals
  5. Educates patients/families in home exercise programs and functional activities
  6. Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines and departmental policies
  7. Seeks and fosters interdepartmental communication and communication with referring physicians
  8. Attends continuing education courses to further/improve treatment techniques
