As a Finance Associate, you will collaborate with program staff, ensuring clear communication and teamwork for a smooth exchange of information. You will be responsible for processing requests submitted to the finance department promptly and accurately, in compliance with the organization's policies and guidelines.
Your role involves maintaining open lines of communication with program staff, facilitating effective financial processes execution. By adhering to deadlines, you will ensure timely completion of financial tasks.
Core Responsibilities:- Create and maintain new projects in financial and project management systems throughout their life cycle.
- Review Vendor/Consultant contracts and Purchase Orders (POs) in adherence to FAS procurement policy.
- Process payments based on agreed-upon subagreement payment schedules.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and communicate with Sr. Budget and Contracts Manager.
- Assist in the project closeout process and prepare for annual audits/project-specific audits.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all relevant items in designated locations/folders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to organize paperwork methodically.
- Discreet, detail-oriented, client-focused, patient, and receptive to acquiring new skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience.
- Prior work experience from non-profit or government institutions/organizations.
- Familiarity with 2 CFR 200 uniform guidelines is a valuable asset for this role.
- Demonstrated experience in grant management, encompassing multiple funding sources such as USG, foundations, and other funding sources.
This position will be a hybrid role based in Washington DC, allowing both remote and in-person work. Typically, two to three days per week will be spent in the DC office, and two to three days per week will be remote.
