Software Development Engineer III

Job Responsibilites:

  • Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.

  • Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.

  • Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.

  • Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.

  • Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.

  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.

  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

  • Oracle, Java, Python are the preferred technologies.

  • Candidates must have experience in large scale data warehouse projects with AWS- candidates who have been in Business Intelligence Engineer roles, Data Engineer roles, or Data Scientist are the target candidates to source.

  • Foundational People Data Services team (FPDS) is looking for daily operational and on-call support and ongoing management of HR system, including build of system fixes, user experience testing and delivery. FPDS is also looking for support with deprecation and replacement of said system, including end user experiences and back-end services, used by multiple business with client and its Affiliates and other client entities in other jurisdictions.

  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

  • Proficiency in a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or Python.

  • Understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with designing and building large-scale web services.

  • Experience with service-oriented architecture.

  • Experience with supporting mission-critical, 24x7 systems.

  • Proven results and a history of project delivery.

  • Experience working with Agile engineering practices.

  • Typical Years of Experience: 7+ years.
