Our Registered Dietitians design and implement therapeutic nutritional care plans for patients, based on physician's diagnosis, utilizing general dietetic standards and regulations. This position fulfills these duties while integrating company values into daily practice.
This position will work as needed (PRN) Day shifts.
Essential job functions include but are not limited to:
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the nutritional aspects of patient care by sharing specialized knowledge with others on the medical team, participating appropriately in patient rounds and conferences, recording in medical records, and assessing the nutritional status of patients, instructing patients, recording diet histories, interpreting and integrating therapeutic principles.
- Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Makes appropriate notation of food and drug interaction in the patient medical record.
- Educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans.
- Administers and advises dietary operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans.
- Maintain current diet manual for therapeutic diets that have been approved jointly by the dietitian and medical staff.
- May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutritional sciences, clinical nutrition, public health nutrition or a related area is required; Master's preferred.
- Two years' related experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Dietitian as applicable per state requirements.
