Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve quality, productivity, and cost performance. This role requires extensive experience in supplier management and tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct research programs to develop new manufacturing processes, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.

  • Interface with suppliers to verify tool construction, develop new process designs, and ensure quality standards are met.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain tooling and fixtures to optimize manufacturing processes.

  • Lead initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Plan, specify, select, validate, and implement new equipment, processes, and facilities in manufacturing.

  • Identify and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing process problems through testing, evaluation, and analysis.

  • Create and maintain manufacturing documents, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of tooling/fixture and gauge design processes.

  • Ability to implement continuous improvement strategies utilizing lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Experience working within a heavy machining environment.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on supplier management and tooling.

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or ISO standards are preferred.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at a supplier location in Hebron, KY. The work involves helping to decrease scrap, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and creating/modifying existing and new work instructions. The environment includes working with manufacturing processes such as spot welding, press brake, welding, mechanical inspection, and manual straightening.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
