The peer support specialist will perform light programming duties, which involve database management to automate tasks. Successful individuals in this role should possess a solid background to take total ownership of projects from customer service to customer complaint management. Peer Support Specialists should work well and communicate effectively with others, be a self-starter and a creative thinker, and be able to problem-solve a project from start to finish. They enjoy a great deal of autonomy and are expected to be able to manage their time effectively and efficiently. This position requires discipline and the ability to work in a virtual environment without direct supervision. Candidates should be able to work with a remote team and should be able to take and provide constructive feedback and input from others. Peer Support Specialists are highly compassionate individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. It is crucial to their role that they be capable of building trust and forming impactful relationships with their patients. They also possess first-hand experience that allows them to connect more deeply with their patients. Skills and Abilities Strong documentation and diagramming skills using Social Media, Office Suite, and IT Systems. Work with ticket queue to track tasks and projects. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and have excellent social and interpersonal skills. Willingness and ability to learn, to teach, and to train others. Ability to accept constructive criticism via strict peer review. Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated to take ownership of projects without immediate supervision. Ability to time-slice between multiple projects and multiple requirements and be flexible to change assignments on short notice and prioritize projects.? Must have clerical aptitude and know office telephone protocol. Must know the laws governing confidentiality and be able to adhere to policies. Being able to obtain Peer Support Specialist certification within 6 to 8 months. Being able to travel, sometimes daily, in the local area
