THIS POSTING IS FOR ONE OPEN POSITION WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR CAD TECHNICIAN I/II. POSITION OFFERED WILL DEPEND ON THE CANDIDATE'S QUALIFICATIONS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CAD TECHNICIAN I:
• Performs drafting for capital projects using AutoCAD based on verbal instructions or sketches provided by Engineers
• Assists in ensuring that all plans are prepared in accordance with Specifications, Special Provisions, Standard Details, Drafting Standards and Approved Material List.
• Prepares AutoCAD standards and templates as required.
• Assists Engineers in preparing exhibits and compiling information for capital budgets, project status reports, project schedules.
• Prepares as-built plans of completed projects and updates system maps.
• Ability to use plotters and printers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CAD TECHNICIAN II:
• Performs drafting for capital projects using AutoCAD based on verbal instructions or sketches provided by Engineers
• Ensures that all plans are prepared in accordance with Specifications, Special Provisions, Standard Details, Drafting Standards and Approved Material List.
• Prepares AutoCAD standards and templates as required.
• Prepares exhibits and compiling information for capital budgets, project status reports, project schedules.
• Performs existing utility research and collects information required to prepare construction plans.
• Trains lower-level CAD Technicians and new team members, as necessary.
• Provides first level of troubleshooting for department for CAD-related software issues.
• Prepares as-built plans of completed projects and updates system maps.
• Ability to use plotters and printers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS FOR CAD TECHNICIAN I:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD experience in general civil design or in public utilities design required.
• Basic knowledge of water and wastewater utilities.
• Experience AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Experience with GIS applications preferred.
• Experience with Microstation® preferred.
• Experience in the design of water distribution, storage, supply, wastewater collection facilities are highly desirable.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License issued by the state where employed
• Must take and pass Federal OSHA and/or State Mandated Safety training with annual refresher course as required by the associated regulations for this Position. Such training will be provided by company and compliance is mandatory.
• May include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking, listening, and sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.
• Successful candidates must pass background checks.

QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL CAD TECHNICIAN I/II:
• Knowledge of engineering concepts, policies, requirements, and regulations.
• Proficient in the use of computerized office equipment and programs, including MS Office, MS Windows, and Adobe products.
• Ability to read water and wastewater plans.
• Demonstrated ability in reading, writing, typing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
• Ability to train other AutoCAD Technicians.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on initiative, knowledge sharing, and team building.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying process improvement opportunities and engage in implementing improvements.
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing customer needs through soliciting, evaluating, and acting upon customer feedback.
• Ability to research, interpret, and compile analytical data.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS MAY INCLUDE:
May include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs., bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, sitting, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking and listening for extended periods of time.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
