Certified Respiratory Therapist

Overview

As a Certified Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential respiratory therapy, diagnostics, and monitoring to patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Current registration or eligibility for licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• RRT credential awarded by the NBRC
• Current CPR card

Physical Demands

• Ability to assist in lifting patients and maneuvering equipment
• Fine motor control in hands for tasks such as medication preparation
• Good visual and auditory acuity

Mental Demands

• Ability to work under stress and adapt to changing conditions
• Adherence to strict confidentiality requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and prioritize care based on assessment
• Provide care according to respiratory standards of practice
• Document patient care and complete CQI projects
• Participate in continuing education and development of department staff
