The Retreat partners with The Villa at Sunny Vista, a community with 50 independent living apartment homes accessible to low-income and disabled seniors, as well as The Living Center at Sunny Vista, providing 116 suites with skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Assistant is directly responsible to support and assist the Maintenance Director in meeting goals under the supervision of the Administrator. Must become familiar with the entire building, have a working knowledge of all equipment within the facility, and regulations affecting the operation of the facility.

Essential Duties

  • Assists with diagnosing mechanical problems.
  • Assists maintenance director in making skilled repairs on boilers, electric motors, appliances such as electric stove, dishwasher, fire alarms, air conditioning, washing machines, dryers, refrigeration equipment, plumbing, and mixing valves.
  • Cleans exhaust fans and filters every three months.
  • Maintains lawns, driveways, and buildings to include painting and wallpapering.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Must be on‑call every other week for emergencies.

Basic Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Must have considerable manual dexterity, mechanical ability, auditory and visual acuity.
  • Good general health.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Able to drive automobiles, trucks, and tractors.
  • Must have a valid, current Colorado Driver's license.
  • Must be able to bend and stoop as well as push, pull and/or lift a minimum of fifty pounds.
  • Must respond to and cooperate with management personnel and department/facility needs.
  • Must be able to pass pulmonary function test for respirator qualifications.

If the position applied to is not located in Colorado, the following information may not apply. Pay Range Minimum: $18.00 Per Hour ; Maximum: $20.00 Per Hour. The base range represents the low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
