Job SummaryHuman Resources (“HR”) Clerk will be responsible for departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, executive administration, and employee training. The HR Clerk helps with the implementation of HR Department services, policies, programs, and assists company employees and managers with HR issues, as needed.

Responsibilities and DutiesEssential Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Assist with the tracking of departmental and company KPIs that support the accomplishment of the Company’s strategic goals
  • Prepare and maintain reports necessary to carry out the functions of the HR Department.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as necessary to represent the department
  • Maintain the HRIS database and generate scheduled or requested reports
  • Periodically audit all HR databases to ensure accuracy
  • Keep employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner
  • Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • Conduct benefit orientations and other benefit trainings, as needed
  • Assist employees with benefit-related questions and issues
  • Track employee participation in and maintain records of Company trainings and in-services
  • Track implementation, progress, and success of employee performance improvement plans
  • Manage change of status notifications and related paperwork
  • Conduct new employee orientation, as needed
  • Maintain inventory of all new hire forms and packets
  • Prepare new hire packets
  • Create employee badges for new employees, travelers, contractors, and replacement badges
  • Establish personnel files for all new hires
  • Assist with the implementation and tracking of Company safety and health programs
  • Participate in department and Company committees to provide HR support and ensure completion of activities/achievement of related goals
  • Sort mail and faxes; distribute to employee mailboxes
  • Respond to all employment verification requests
  • Retrieve personnel, benefit, and confidential files for all terminated employees and/or contractors; transition the retrieved-active files to terminated status
  • Manage all expired notices including: submitting expired notices to payroll for distribution with pay checks; mailing individual notices separately if not mailed with the pay check; scanning and saving all expired notices by issue date
  • Maintain inventory of all benefits forms, booklets and prepares benefits packets
  • Establish Benefits files for all new hires
  • Manage the open enrollment process, under the supervision of an HR Administrator
  • Maintain inventory of all safety materials and safety packets
  • Create safety packets
  • Follow-up with credential request from the facilities
  • Perform all filing and follow-up administrative tasks to keep HR records accurate and up to date
  • Track and administer employee birthday cards and anniversary service awards
  • Set –up new hire orientation materials at least one day prior to the scheduled orientation
  • Report to work on time.
  • Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures
  • Comply with all applicable safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Report to work regularly and on-time
Additional Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Support other HR staff in assigned project-based work, as needed
  • Proactively takes on other responsibilities without specific direction from supervisors
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Required
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Experience in benefits administration and other HR programs
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment, and a billing software

  • Able to gather and analyze information timely and skillfully

Workplace EnvironmentThe job will primarily be working in the Company’s Resource Center, at 774 S. Placentia Ave., Placentia, CA 92870. This office environment has no unusual exposures, but safety precautions must be taken at all times.

Salary Range: $16.50 to $19.50
