Job Description

AECOM Tishman is seeking a Construction Intern to be based in New York, New York .

This position is expected to begin in September 2024.

About AECOM Tishman

Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. In total, AECOM Tishman has built more than 900 million square feet – including the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center in New York.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.

  • Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.

  • Meets required schedules while producing quality work.

  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar discipline, and must have completed at least 2 years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow direction and manage specific tasks to completion.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.

  • Willing to work a variety of tasks alone or as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $21.27/hour - $37.22/hour.
