The Systems Administrator, Security will serve as a primary resource for meeting the Systems needs of the IT Security Team. Sys Admin, Sec will be responsible for interacting with the Security team resources for the implementation of security and monitoring applications, and installing, administering, and troubleshooting the organization's security solutions as they require data center resources. While a full member of the Datacenter Operations Team, this resource’s primary customer group is the IT Security Team. This resource will ensure the highest standards of system uptime with minimum interruptions, supporting Microsoft and Unix server operating systems, and various applications, while implementing new security tools and remediating identified security risks.
Responsibilities• Work with internal Security Team resources to install, upgrade and maintain Security related applications and tools. • Coordinate with Security resources to address vulnerabilities identified within the UofLHealth environment. • Work individually and with the other System Administrators and Application owners to maintain system and application patching. (Ex. Microsoft Patching via SCCM, etc.) • Perform application installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
• Manage physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers and applications.• Install and configure supported hardware and software.• Evaluate and make recommendations regarding technical directions.
• Coordinate with clients and technical teams to define technical requirements and execute assigned projects within deadlines.• Work with technical team to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements.• Maintain project technical specifications and other documentation.• Adhere to company engineering guidelines and standards.• Stay updated with industry products and technologies.• Perform troubleshooting, Quality Assurance (QA) testing, and debugging of enterprise applications.• Monitor system performance, diagnose system issues, perform emergency and scheduled maintenance.• Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation:• Minimum education level Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience: • A minimum of five years of experience in system administration and technical support of a Windows and Unix based environment.
Certification:• Preferred certification(s): SCCM, CISSP
