Join our dedicated team as a Med Surg Float Pool Nurse In this dynamic role, you'll have the opportunity to float between medicine, post-surgical, and emergency departments, providing essential patient care and support.
The Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing patient needs throughout their care journey. Your focus will be on ensuring smooth transitions within the acute care setting and facilitating progress toward discharge. You will collaborate closely with the caregiving team to deliver competent and compassionate care to our patients and their families.
Hourly Range: $36.73 - $60.93
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests while documenting as required by policy and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to accurately assess patients' conditions.
- Continuously assess and evaluate patient needs and their responses to care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in making patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer medications, both over-the-counter and prescription, as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining high standards of professional nursing care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional nursing program leading to a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is mandatory.
- Minimum 1-3 years of clinical RN experience is required.
- At least 1 year of Telemetry or ICU experience is essential.
- A commitment to improving job performance through continuing education.
- Knowledge of quality concepts and principles, with the capability to apply them to support departmental and patient care quality improvement initiatives.
