Optometrist:
The Optometrist promotes and maintains health by providing vision care services to Sunrise Community Health patients. Responsibilities include conducting eye examinations, prescribing corrective lenses, and determining patient's visual alertness.
***$15,00.00 Sign-On Bonus Available***
(Bonus is pro-rated based on FTE)
Position Summary:
With a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach, The Optometrist will:
- Performs thorough routine eye exams.
- Identifies the patient's visual alertness, field of vision, and hand-eye coordination.
- Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness, and color blindness.
- Prescribes corrective lenses and medications.
- Maintains accurate medical files for all patients.
- Promotes eye health by teaching patients about proper eye care techniques.
- Identifies and assesses eye defects and diseases such as diabetes and liver failure.
- Records all diagnosis and treatment plans including transfers and therapeutic prescriptions.
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree.
- Valid state-issued license for O.D. and optometry.
- A minimum of 2-4 years related experience as an Optometrist.
- Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
