An exciting opportunity to join Sutter Health as a Registered EEG Technologist. In this role you will perform routine and specialized non-invasive neurological tests as ordered by the physician for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of injury or disease. You will work independently, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results to a physician in a timely manner. Gaining confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, etc., through patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication is critical to success in this role. You should be able to evaluate EEG test results as well as have a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, chemistry and medical terminology. Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options. Ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI). Competitive salary: $56-74 per hour.

  • Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (END) program.
  • Required Certification & Licensure: R.EEG T.-Registered Electroencephalographic/Neurodiagnostic Technologist and BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
  • Typical Experience: 1-year recent relevant experience.
  • Required Skills and Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of neurodiagnostic services, mechanics, and equipment. Basic functional neuroanatomy and neurophysiology relevant to EEG. Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Knowledge of electrographic correlates of clinical conditions such as generalized tonic-clonic seizures, complex partial seizures, and nonepileptic events. Knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations in neurodiagnostics, basic electricity and electronic concepts of EEG, as well as anatomical correlation of EEG waveforms. Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
