Description

The dosimetrist shall perform services requiring substantial knowledge in anatomy, radiation physics, radiation biology and radiation therapy technique. The dosimetrist is an active participant in the treatment planning and is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of treatment plans generated. Duties may include, but are not limited to: treatment planning, dose calculations, troubleshooting of treatment machines and patient set-ups, CT simulation supervision, and assisting physicians (where appropriate). The dosimetrist will play an active role in the Quality Improvement program.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education requirements of the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) for Certified Medical Dosimetrists (CMDs). Or equivalent educ/experience.

  • In lieu of a Bachelors degree required to have a minimum of 2 years related Dosimetrist experience.

  • Washington Radiologic Technologist upon hire or

  • National Certified Medical Dosimetrist - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board upon hire.

  • 2 years In lieu of a Bachelors degree required to have a minimum of 2 years related Dosimetrist experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years Minimum of 3 years of experience as a certified medical dosimetrist (MDCB)

  • 1 year Registered Radiation Therapist prior to attending a dosimetry school
