Position : Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location : Sparks, MD
Duration : 12 Months Contract
Total Hours/week : 4.00
1st shift
Job Description:
- Temporary Part-Time LPN Job Description
- We are seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) with current Maryland State licensure to perform sample collection from healthy volunteers participating in the Associate Sample Collection Program (ASCP). The ASCP is a volunteer program whereby Client associates donate clinical specimens to support Client diagnostic assay development. These specimens are a valuable resource for the R&D product development teams in that they mimic real patient specimens.
- The ASCP is run under an IRB-approved protocol whereby all patients are consented and all samples are de-identified prior to use for product development purposes. The successful candidate will perform nasopharyngeal and throat swab specimen collection at mutually agreed upon times (usually 1-2 hours duration) on an as needed basis (typically once every 1-2 weeks). ASCP study staff will schedule and advertise the collections and provide all collection and sample storage devices together with the necessary paperwork. The LPN will perform the sample collection and the ASCP study staff will retrieve the specimens and paperwork at the end of the session. Initial training will be provided by on-site physician but thereafter the LPN will work independently with the ASCP staff to execute their duties.
- Minimum qualifications are LPN certificate or degree qualification plus a minimum of one year of practical nursing experience.
