Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the IS Network Manager is responsible for the operation and support of all networking, telephony, and other unified communications.

System Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all operations of the networking and unified communications team.
  • Manages networking and communications staff, including recruiting and training new hires.
  • Monitors associated usage of communications software and hardware and recommends upgrades as necessary.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts across the organization to determine technology needs.
  • Supports legacy technology (e.g. older PBX) and recommends upgrade paths.
  • Ensures network security by overseeing implementation and maintenance of approved technologies.
  • Maintains processes for disaster recovery.
  • Enforces organizational policies regarding the appropriate use of networking and communications systems.
  • Participates in budgeting efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned by the organization.
Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related IT field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Relevant certification (CCNA or other relevant networking certification) is preferred.
  • Certification and continuing education are preferred.
Experience
  • Five (5) years of Networking and Unified Communications experience is required.
  • Five (5) years of IT experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience overseeing IT teams and projects is required.

  • Knowledge of computer hardware, network, and peripheral.
  • Knowledge of virtualization, enterprise computing, enterprise storage, and enterprise backup and recovery technologies.
  • Excellent legacy telecommunications skills
  • Excellent network and telecommunications troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent network analysis fundamentals.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal are required.
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills needed for working with clinicians and coworkers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively about complex matters with others who have varying levels of education.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Advanced skill level with MS Office.
