Summary:
You will be involved in the product design and release of aftermarket and custom accessories for automotive vehicles.
What you will be able to do:

• Lead development of body and electrical components as accessory offerings on vehicle programs. Will need to define requirements, product design, tooling, testing and launching of components.

• Work with interfacing commodity engineers, developing viable designs that meet functional requirements, ensuring compatibility.

• Work to develop CAD to specific requirements/specifications and validating with CAE, as applicable, using Design Rules, Regulatory items, and Attributes (package, design feasibility, NVH, water management, craftsmanship, etc.)

• Manage multiple projects, working with program engineers for refining functional characteristics of the components, system, and/or features in the vehicle.

• Lead team meetings (suppliers, designers, engineers, manufacturing, etc.) and work in a collaborative environment; establishing and delivering to plan.

• Balance attributes and tradeoffs (cost, weight, timing, etc.).

• Present to team stakeholder's, including PD Customization., Program Teams, Marketing, Vehicle Personalization, Design Studio, and Manufacturing teams.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree Engineering Discipline / Mechanical &/or Electrical Preferred.

• 5+ years' experience in design and release of functional components and systems integration

• Familiarity with engineering and design of automotive electrical components, wiring and systems.

• Working knowledge of TCE / CATIA, WERS, and Vis Mockup

• Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with resolving complex issues and effectively communicating to management.

• Knowledge of engineering disciplines; Six Sigma, DFMEA, DVP, Certification Testing, GD&T, DFM, Variation Analysis.

• Knowledge of Systems: WERS, GPDS.
