Sr. Financial Planner and Analyst

SUMMARY:
The Senior FP&A analyst plays a primary role in the monthly and quarterly P&L variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting process at Cytek Biosciences. This role will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly and quarterly financials, budget, quarterly and long range forecasts. The successful incumbent will work with each department across all sites of the company to understand the business and its financial needs. This individual will also assist in establishing financial guidance for the fiscal year, periodically updating Cytek Biosciences progress against that guidance, and recommend improvements to the budgeting and forecasting process, which will include communication to the leadership team,
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively and effectively partner with various stakeholders across the enterprise
- Lead and support business teams with the annual operating budget and forecast processes.
- Manage the preparation of monthly variance analysis of actuals to forecast and budget, explain and investigate any major discrepancies, and understand key business drivers across all sites of the company.
- Participate in monthly close process (accruals, reviews, journal entries) and review meetings with business partners
- Act as liaison between the business and accounting groups.
- Identify business process improvement opportunities, develop solution options, engage management and stakeholders to align on decisions, implement approved plans, and revise operating procedures to reflect changes.
- Research and respond timely and accurately to business partner inquiries.
- Evaluate profit plans, operating records, and financial statements
- Prepare various presentations for various leadership teams
- Improve ERP and Business Planning Tool reporting by creating or streamlining existing reporting processes
- Make recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
- Complete ad hoc reports or analysis in support of M&A activities, Cytek leadership team, and special projects.
- Partner with stakeholders and assist in developing, communicating and achieving operating plans

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate an ability to recognize management problems and develop solutions
- Offer solid programs for enhancing companywide budgeting and forecasting process with key stake holders
- Strong team builder, supporting an organizational culture that fosters strong financial understanding and awareness
- View problems as opportunities, effectively overcome people organizational blocks to achieve results
- 3-7 years experience in a corporate FP&A role with experience in financial forecasts, budgets, monthly variance analysis preferably in a technology and/or manufacturing company environment.
- Strong accounting skills including experience with revenue accounting for hardware and services, inventory, manufacturing overhead allocation, and gross margin analysis
- Experience with NetSuite Enterprise level Accounting or equivalent
- Adaptive Planning or related experience with a business planning tool preferred
- Detail oriented with attention to process and documentation in addition to accuracy. Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, Sumifs, LookUps).
- Strong written communication skills to clearly convey monthly reporting to stakeholders. Ability to translate GAAP terms to non-accounting partners.
- Ability to manage deadlines from multiple project streams.
- Hands-on; must have a willingness to become involved in the details of the operations to ensure accurate information is provided to the business partners.
The Sr. FP&A analyst who is a creative problem solver that can help us improve and transform our current FP&A tools and processes. You must be engaged, flexible, and have the ability to build relationships with internal/external customers and finance/non-finance business partners. You are expected to develop an in-depth knowledge of your customers to effectively support their business needs and provide accurate forecasts.
You must be highly motivated, curious, and technically proficient with a strong sense of ownership and business ethics to deliver quality work on a daily basis. We are looking for someone with a strong analytical background and strict attention to detail. You must be a proactive leader exhibiting strong influencing capabilities with business partners and a willingness to maintain open and transparent communication across the organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Ability to type and perform data entry for extended periods.
- Frequent use of office equipment such as computers, calculators, printers, and phones.
- Ability to focus and maintain attention to detail for extended periods.
- Standard office environment with exposure to artificial lighting and air conditioning.
- Work primarily performed in a seated position at a desk or workstation.
- Regular business hours, with occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g., month-end or tax season).
- May occasionally interact with clients or stakeholders via phone, video calls, or in person.
- Collaborative and team-oriented environment with deadlines and frequent communication.
