Description

Buena Vista University is seeking a talented and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team on a remote contract basis. The SME will be responsible for creating three comprehensive online courses focused on healthcare leadership. This individual should have a deep understanding of healthcare management, leadership principles, and online course development methodologies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in crafting engaging and informative content that meets the needs of healthcare professionals aspiring to advance their leadership skills. Courses are taught on the Canvas learning management platform and are seven and a half weeks in length.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed outlines and learning objectives for each of the three online courses in healthcare leadership.
  • Design engaging and interactive course materials, including lectures, presentations, case studies, quizzes, and assignments.
  • Ensure alignment of course content with industry best practices, emerging trends, and relevant regulations in healthcare leadership.
  • In conjunction with BVU's library, research and gather relevant resources, articles, and multimedia content to support course materials, with an emphasis on open-source alternatives.
  • Collaborate with BVU's instructional designers and multimedia specialists to produce high-quality course content, including written materials, videos, and audio recordings, to effectively convey key concepts and principles of healthcare leadership that enhance the learning experience.
  • Manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of course development projects.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, instructional designers, and technical support teams, to coordinate efforts and address any issues or concerns.
Qualifications
  • PhD in healthcare administration, business administration, education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare leadership, management, or administration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in online curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and multimedia authoring tools.
  • Experience working in remote or virtual environments, with the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Quality Matters training and/or willingness to complete QM modules, preferred.
  • Record of strong online teaching performance preferred.
