Job Title: Sales Engineer

Job Description

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for obtaining customer requests for proposals and specifications for systems. Your tasks will include reading customer specifications, preparing proposals, quotes, and offers while collaborating with a global support team and the customer. You will complete sales of the product, negotiate contracts, and support sales agents and customers with technical, sales, and marketing queries. Additionally, you will exchange information with inside sales and sales managers about market potential, analyze market potentials, maintain the customer relations management system (CRM), recognize mechanical, aerodynamic, and price risks, and communicate these to the Sales Manager. You will also recommend product development ideas based on market needs and carry out technical and sales conversations with customers, sales agents, manufacturing, and suppliers. Cold calling is also a part of the role.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 2 years plus previous co/ops experience

  • Mechanical inclination

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Soft Skills

  • Ability to negotiate contracts

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to analyze market potentials

  • CRM management

Work Environment

You will be joining a team of 14. Travel is required once a month mainly within the US and occasionally to Canada and Mexico, with potential training in Germany. Travel duration could be up to a couple of weeks but is not last minute. All travel expenses including meals, hotel, and daily allowances are covered. Locations frequently visited include North Dakota and North Carolina, with some trips within a day's drive in southern Ohio. Most trips will be via flying.
