DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will conduct a comprehensive array of testing procedures in compliance with the standards set by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), ASTM Internal (ASTM), and the Department of Transportation, Pennsylvania Test Methods (PTMs). You will be responsible for performing a variety of tests on coarse and fine aggregate; splitting out aggregate for transfer to the concrete or chemistry labs, as well as splitting out aggregate for petrographic analysis; ensuring equipment is in proper working order by performing daily inspections, monthly maintenance, and cleaning; and interpreting data; as well as keeping records, and maintenance logs. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Technical Assistant; or One year of experience in the testing of materials used in highway, bridge, building, hydraulic or similar construction projects and graduation from high school; or An Associate's Degree in a civil engineering technology or closely related field; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
