Position Summary General Summary/Responsibilities: The Physical Therapist assumes a dynamic leadership role on the interdisciplinary patient care teams. This individual identifies patient care needs, develops a plan of care and goals in collaboration with the patient, provides a wide variety of treatment techniques within the scope of practice, provides education and support to patients/families, and facilitates continuing care planning. The therapist participates in staff management, cost management, and professional practice activities. The therapist is responsible for demonstrating excellent customer service and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department. Population Served Age of Population Served - ☐ Infant (birth – less than 1 year) – Required only for the following Department: LEBANON PHYSICAL THERAPY ☐ Pediatric (1 – less than 9 years) – Required only for the following Departments: 129 75025 OUTPATIENT PHYSICAL THERAPY ☒ Adolescent (9 – less than 18 years) ☒ Adult (18 – less than 65 years) ☒ Geriatric (65 years & older) ☐ All Age Groups (Birth & Above) ☐ Not Applicable Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree Additional requirements: Type of degree: Bachelor of Science or equivalent Area of study or major: Physical Therapy Preferred educational qualifications: N/A Position specific testing requirement: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration Current Physical Therapy license in State of Ohio. Current CPR certification required at time of hire. Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience Prior job title or occupational experience: N/A Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A Preferred experience: 1-3 years of job-related experience. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Basic computer knowledge and skills. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Working Conditions: May be exposed to loud noises. May be exposed to aggressive, violent behavior from patients, family members and/or visitors. May be exposed to bodily fluids, blood and/or airborne pathogens. Must be able to work under stressful conditions which may occur in emergency situations or with a heavy workload. Maintains compliance with organization’s policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards. Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information. Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization. Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies. Reports to work as required. Essential Duties & Functions Evaluates, treats, documents, delegates, and discharges patients per service guidelines. Engages in interdisciplinary patient care management. Bills appropriately for services and supplies provided as indicated through matching of documentation and service charges. Provides oversight of Physical Therapist Assistants. Provides patient/family education. Participates in programs/service performance improvement activities. Manages case load per department standards. Engages in patient satisfaction efforts and looks for opportunities to ensure that all patients have a satisfying experience. Passes all required hospital/department competencies and related testing; applies to everyday performance.
