PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the office

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  1. High school diploma or higher
  2. Satisfactory score on MCISD clerical test in all categories

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Serves as receptionist in the office; answer calls and relay messages; and assist in maintaining good public relations.
  2. Type reports, correspondence, newsletters and other materials as needed.
  3. Receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail.
  4. Maintains files of correspondence, catalogs, and other information.
  5. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or others.
  6. Performs other duties as requested.

None

Personal computer, printer, copier, fax machine, shredder.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; [P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)]
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move text books and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours

FOR INSTRUCTION OUTSIDE A TYPICAL CLASSROOM SETTING (e.g. P.E. Teachers, Fine Arts Instructors, Shop Instructors, etc.) the following physical requirements must be addressed:
  • Constant walking, standing, and movement to ensure safety and well-being of students in large open areas such as playgrounds, gyms, football fields, shop areas, etc.
  • Physical activity, modeling, and directing instruction in front of large group setting of students in order to define/model expected and appropriate behaviors
  • Lifting, carrying, or pulling of instructional equipment such as balls, instruments, cases, tools, etc. which are necessary to the instructional delivery of the lesson
  • Exposure to various climate settings and temperatures relative to classroom instruction within/outside school building/facility
