JOB SUMMARY

The Interventional Recovery Room RN provides nursing care for patients in the department which meet basic ADL needs. They circulate in the department and recognize physical and emotional changes in patients' condition. Additionally, they assist with biopsy, drainage procedures, and special procedures.

  • Display thorough knowledge of nursing and departmental protocols
  • Provide appropriate charting and other documentation
  • Demonstrate proper safety and radiation safety practices for self and others
  • Use equipment appropriately
  • Maintain flow of Interventional Recovery Unit
  • Assist other modalities with nursing patient care issues
  • Work competently with all age groups
  • Use the Radiographic Information System competently
  • Communicate effectively with the department (telephone, papers, and intercom)
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked work area
  • Exceed the expectations of patients and all other customers served
  • Actively assist and support departmental activities to ensure operational and salary expenses are equal to or less than approved budget
  • Understand the principles and concepts of Performance Improvement and seek opportunities for process improvements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience with at least one year in critical care, ER, or PACU experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
