Our Carpenters are responsible for general maintenance, exhibit construction, and historic construction using a variety of carpentry techniques. This includes rough and finish work, wood and steel construction, and general maintenance capabilities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Build and install a variety of building projects including walls/drywall, windows, doors, forms for cement projects
- Repair/restore historic buildings and materials using modern methods
- Repair/install modern roofing, flooring, and ceilings
- Fabricate and erect heavy timber frames
- Contribute to effective team management of all problems, issues, and opportunities
- Act as a team player and provide expertise within the team and with other teams as appropriate
Your Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years of experience as Journeyman Carpenter with residential/commercial background
_Special Skills _
- Knowledge of wood and steel construction, drywall, flooring, ceilings, windows, and doors.
- Knowledge of general woodworking and maintenance; ability to read blueprints; ability to operate hand power tools.
This is a physical position that requires frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of fewer than 50 lbs. Must be able to work outdoors and in all types of conditions and in non-air-conditioned interiors. Frequent work on scaffolding, ladders, Heights over 6 ft.
