Surgical Physician Assistant Opening in Danbury, Connecticut (60 miles from NYC) Full Time Night Shift

Danbury Hospital, now part of Nuvance Health, is seeking a full-time Surgical Physician Assistant to join our established and growing Surgical Advanced Practitioner Services program in Danbury, Connecticut, located about 60 miles northeast of New York City and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State. Our busy service of 13 full-time Advanced Practitioners currently provides services to all surgical patients admitted to the hospital, as well as in Observation, Extended stay, Emergency room, and Operating room, including consults, pre and post-operative care as well as OR first assist. Specialties include, but are not limited to, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgical/Spine, Plastics, and ENT. As we grow the program, we will be evolving to a 24/7 service. Some weekend and night coverage is required. Opportunity for full-time nights position for interested candidates.

The ideal candidate will be a board certified physician assistant with previous DaVinci Robotic, surgical and/or patient management experience and/or surgical residency training. Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 1000+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Danbury is home to Western Connecticut State University as well as a number of historical sites, museums, theaters and art galleries. The area has highly rated public and private school options. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train or car.
