Uncapped Games of Tencent’s Lightspeed Studios is focused on creating an original, action-packed PC Real-Time Strategy game that has a low barrier to entry and is impossible to master. Our ambitious group of passionate developers is looking for a knowledgeable and versatile Technical Artist to help us unlock the full potential of this project and push boundaries in the genre.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Collaborate with the Art and Design teams to help grow and evolve the environmental content
  • Build and expand a library of modular props and set pieces and explore new aesthetics
  • Collaborate with other developers to take a multi-discipline approach to creative exploration and problem solving
Requirements:

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 5 years in game development with at least 1 shipped game as an Environment Artist
  • Ability to handle the various needs of environment art with a strong organizational sense
  • Comfort with exploring stylized asset creation
  • Strong knowledge of PBR materials and workflow
  • Strong grasp of composition, color, layout and lighting from an isometric game camera
  • Proficiency in Maya/3DS Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Photoshop and other similar software
  • A strong desire to achieve common goals with a team while having the awareness to maximize opportunities as an individual contributor

Pluses:

  • Experience working with Unity
  • Experience with various phases of game development (prototyping to live operations)
  • A strong passion for the RTS genre

California

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $69,600 to $283,200 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
