Job Description The overall objective of this position is to ensure Point Eight Power manufactured products meet or exceed Point Eight Powers' quality standards and practices.
- Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to client specifications.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
- Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
- Conduct As-Built Quality Reviews to ensure our products meet or exceed client expectations in terms of quality, uniformity, and reliability upon final inspection.
- Facilitate the timely and effective resolution of product quality issues by serving as a liaison between the Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Managers and/or Shop Foreman.
- Ensure Point Eight Power's quality and reputation by coordinating the UL labeling of products and assisting during UL inspections and other third-party inspections.
- Uphold impeccable quality levels by working closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to continually develop an understanding of Point Eight Power Policies & Procedures and ISO 9001 standards.
- Engage in systematic listening and responsiveness with partners and key client by assisting the Manufacturing Engineer in handling of complaints in a timely and effective manner.
- Decrease operational costs and risks by actively assisting in the development and maintenance of policies that enhance process compliance and ensure product quality.
- Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Equipment Maintenance: Knowledge of Point Eight Power products and equipment. Use of tools such as wrench, screwdrivers, ratchets/sockets, tape measures, and torque wrenches.
- Technical Services: Extensive knowledge of processes as related to our products.
- Safety Compliance: The ability to recognize unsafe work habits. Understanding of OSHA regulations.
- Verbal & Written Communication Skills: Intermediate skills required. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Math Skills: Intermediate skills required, including ability to calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.
- Computers and Electronics: Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming such as Microsoft Office Business Suite.
- Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Quality Control Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System: knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System Requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED, (required)
- ASQ certification in lean manufacturing, six sigma, preferred
- ISO Internal Auditor Certifications, preferred
- 3-5 years of experience performing quality control of structural and electrical assemblies within an electrical-type equipment manufacturing environment, such as switchboard, motor control centers, controllers manufacturing, etc., required.
- 1 -2 years of experience applying ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements, preferred.
