Job Overview

As a Sr. UX Designer at Children's Hospital Colorado, you will be instrumental in shaping the digital experience for our customers. Leveraging your expertise in user experience and design, you will create intuitive, aesthetically pleasing and innovative digital solutions that resonate with our audiences. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about creating compelling online experiences for a mission-driven organization.

We are looking for a forward-thinking Sr. UX Designer to help create new digital experiences as well as optimize the usability of our websites and mobile apps. This role will require partnering and collaborating closely with multiple teams to plan direction and collect customer-driven feedback.

The Sr. UX Designer works in close collaboration with the internal digital and creative teams at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO). They will create designs that powerfully reflect the passion, integrity and mission of the CHCO brand. This position works collaboratively with other designers, copywriters, developers, management and staff throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - A bachelor's degree in a related field such as human computer interaction, UX design, visual design or graphic design is preferred
  • EXPERIENCE - Five years of UX design experience in an agency, studio, or corporate environment. Experience monitoring the quality and workload of design team, and pre-pre/production experience are also required.
    • Preferred experience:
      • 5+ years professional web and mobile UX design experience
      • Expert in Figma
      • Proficient in Adobe CC Illustrator, Photoshop
      • General understanding of front-end development concepts
      • Firm grasp of mobile and responsive design best practices
      • Familiarity with iOS and Android design guidelines (Apple Human Interface Guidelines) and open-source design systems such as Material or Fluent
      • Familiarity and experience facilitating tests on user-testing platforms such as Optimal Workshop or Maze.
      • Experience and comfort with conducting both un-moderated and in-person moderated tests
      • Experience sourcing and refining testing audiences.
      • Working experience practicing lean UX methods
      • Experience creating and refining customer journeys
  • EQUIVALENCY - Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor degree requirement on a year for year basis.

  • Design seamless and visually compelling user interfaces for our website and mobile apps, ensuring a consistent and on-brand experience across all digital platforms. Create designs that are functional, modular and accessible
  • Organize design files, maintain design components and design system
  • Utilize wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to bring concepts to life, focusing on usability and aesthetic appeal.
  • Design User Research - Conduct user research activities, including interviews, surveys, and user observations to gain valuable insights into user behaviors, pain points and motivations. Use this data to inform and evolve design decisions and enhance the overall user experiences.
  • Design User Testing - Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design decisions, using the results to make informed design improvements. Create interactive prototypes and set up usability tests to gather quantitative and qualitative feedback from users and guide design decisions.
  • Translate research and discovery into user flow diagrams, wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes.
  • Collaboration and Communication - You will work closely with digital strategists, designers, copywriters, developers, management and a wide range of stakeholders to communicate and present findings, identify patterns, create actionable recommendations, translate those recommendations into designs, shepherd your work through reviews and approvals, and hand off designs for development. Work with developers to implement designs and ensure every version release matches the design file and the visual standard
  • Develop and prototype UI animation and microinteractions
  • Familiarity with CSS and front-end design principles
  • Contribute to digital experience strategy roadmap planning.
  • Maintain both platform-wide and product-wide design systems.
  • Maintain and evolve our digital design guidelines in partnership with our creative team to ensure brand consistency.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $71,040.18 to $106,560.27
Hourly Salary Range: $34.15 to $51.23
