Job Summary:

The Fleet Specialist will oversee and maintain the organization's fleet of cars, trucks, and specialized vehicles.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implement OSHA, DOT and state regulations as well as ensure proper insurance, licenses and registrations are in place.
  • Develops schedules and procedures and ensures adherence to routine maintenance and non-routine repair of all vehicles in the company's fleet.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and staff to manage and reduce expenses such as those for fuel and labor costs.
  • Establishes a schedule for recommended replacement of fleet vehicles.
  • Drafts and presents reports on department operations and expenses.
  • Prepares and implements departmental budget.
  • Develops and enforces procedures, policies, and safety protocols for all fleet services staff.
  • Ensure driver records are up to date, records of fleet vehicles, fuel cards, registrations, maintenance, drivers and use/storage locations.
  • Manage GeoTab, Wex and insurance policy accounts
  • Consistently review fleet policies and procedures to streamline processes and identify gaps.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of DOT and fleet regulations
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prepare and adhere to a budget and to monitor and reduce expenses.
  • Excellent organizational and record keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in fleet maintenance required.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
