Title: Wraparound Services and Family and Community Engagement Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Education Services

Employment Status: ESC Employee (190 days) Assigned to Richmond Heights Local Schools

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree preferred, Associates Degree is a must

General Description: The Richmond Heights Local School District, an inner-ring suburban/urban school district, is looking for qualified applicants to serve as a Wraparound Services Coordinator who will work primarily with targeted at-risk students throughout the district, coordinate Family and Community Engagement programming, and lead attendance initiatives. This coordinator will assist the district's administration and counselor in supporting the social/emotional development of students by providing comprehensive services to students, teachers, and other personnel as well as coordinate support and services to and for families. The wraparound philosophy is rooted in the belief that many students face non-academic barriers that impede their achievement in school. These barriers often need a coordinated effort to mitigate or manage. Wraparound plans are comprehensive and address multiple life domains across home, school, and community. Wraparound services are not specifically special education services nor mental health services, but rather they focus on connecting school, family, community and appropriate agencies in a manner that supports the targeted at-risk student. The coordinator will have to work within the school, in the homes of students, in the community and with various agencies to address myriad non-academic barriers such as truancy, juvenile justice involvement, mental health referrals, substance abuse indicators, poverty related issues, social dysfunction issues, etc. The spirit of the Wraparound Coordinator's position is always one of advocacy for the student, rather than punitive, disciplinarian or policing.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Working with district administration in identifying targeted at-risk students

2. Developing individual student profiles for case management
3. Establishing an advocacy-driven relationship with identified students
4. Engaging identified families by making home visits and holding individual conferences to establish support needs
5. Assisting families and students in making the connection to outside resource agencies
6. Advocating on behalf of the targeted students and their families for services
7. Working with the juvenile justice organizations on behalf of the student
8. Making referrals to agencies for more professional services (i.e. behavioral health, mental health, substance abuse, etc.)
9. Ensuring that appropriate data is collected while maintaining all requirements under FERPA and HIPAA
10. Assisting targeted students with the development and monitoring of goals toward getting back onto the tract toward academic success (i.e. academic, attendance and behavioral goals) that may or may not be tied to an IEP if the student receives special education services too
11. Reporting to the administrative cabinet with monthly status updates
12. Working closely with the district's PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports) Team to address the students that fall into the Tertiary Tier of the MTSS Model as opposed to those in the Universal and Secondary Tiers. In other words, your most at-risk students.
13. Assuming other responsibilities within the scope of the job and any duties assigned in extraordinary circumstances

14. Assisting with day-to-day student management when requested (i.e. visibility during lunch periods, dismissals, extra-curricular events, etc.)
15. Family and Community Engagement Coordination
16. HB 410 Coordinator, residency and attendance verification

Terms of Employment: Flexible schedule to allow for expanded meeting times (before and after school) and off school locations as needed. Based on a 200-day work and year calendar.

Evaluation: Mid-year and Annual Evaluation

Lead Absence Intervention Team (HB 410)

Additional Working Conditions:

Must have a valid driver's license, Acquire a Pupil Service Permit within 3 months of employment.
