We have a position for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for 19L Diesel Engine Design and Development Support, including Plant Support, VPCRs requested by Sourcing / Marketing / Quality and PPS. This role is responsible for projects supporting global customers.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and manage product lifecycle from design phase to production phase through activities like requirements review, design validation plan reports and testing activities.
- Prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects
- Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.

- Attend & Schedule Weekly Meetings for responsible components:
- Lead and complete design reviews to achieve release of components.
- Fuel system components
- Failure Incident Report Group (FIRG) process
- Design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA)
- Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT)
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Humble, teachable, and who solve their own problems

- Possess the ability to handle multiple internal and external suppliers AND customers
- Good communicator - written and verbal

What you'll need to be successful:
- College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines. Mechanical Engineering degree HIGHLY preferred as well as 2 or more years of hands-on experience.
- Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
- PTC Creo
- Windchill experience is highly desired.
