Job Title: Mold Maker

Job Description

Mold Makers will be assembling molds and tooling up to spec before sending them to the customer. Injector pins may fit perfectly or may need to grind/polish equipment to make everything fit before delivery. Responsibilities include troubleshooting tool problems in concept and on the shop floor, performing conventional machining (lathe work – turning, drilling, threading; tool sharpening; surface grinding; welding; drilling; tapping/threading; polishing), completing details and assembly of molds, performing revisions, repairs, and upgrades to molds or dies, operating all machines and tools necessary to perform mold or die build and repair functions, reviewing prints and programs to develop a process to complete jobs, maintaining quality of parts through inspection and communication with teammates, working with designers, programmers, and assemblers to produce/repair necessary components, identifying process and equipment problems and suggesting improvements, and working with apprentices to upgrade their skill levels.

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in AUBURN HILLS, Michigan.

Work Environment

1st shift Monday - Friday 6am to 2:30pm/4:30pm, occasional Saturday. 2nd shift Monday - Friday 2:30pm to 10:30pm or 4:30pm to 2:30am. 1st shift – 6 to 4:30. Saturdays – 6 to 11 or 12. 2nd shift – 4:15 to 2:45. Fridays – 3:15 start time usually, not all the time. Saturdays – 11:45am to 5:45. Warehouse and manufacturing environment. Loud, with provided eye and ear protection. Must wear close-toed shoes at all times. 2nd shift has a group size of about 20.
