JOB DESCRIPTION:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs comprehensive psychiatric /mental health assessments, evaluates mental status and refers to other treatment providers when necessary.

  • Monitors changes in health status, including but not limited to vital signs, weights, nutritional status and disease states.

  • Provides assigned residential nursing services as directed.

  • Administers and monitors medications as ordered. Monitors medication effectiveness, side effects and compliance. May perform assessments for any side effects/EPS.

  • Addresses medication issues with consumer when necessary. Provides proper education and guidance as necessary.

  • Provides healthcare education to clients and/or families or staff as assigned.

  • Works in collaboration with other members of the treatment team and in collaboration with external health care providers as necessary.

  • Meets billable hour productivity standards.

  • Completes clinical documentation within organization's policy standards.

  • Maintains all mandatory trainings up to date.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must have the ability to work cooperatively with all staff and physicians and function as a valuable member of the treatment team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Years of Experience

Minimum of six months to one year experience in psychiatric or equivalent mental health related nursing experience is preferred.

Certification/Licensure

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Florida.
