Position Overview: As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure at various locations. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of network systems. Your expertise in networking technologies and your problem-solving skills will be essential in delivering top-notch networking solutions.
Key Responsibilities of the Network Engineer:
- Design and plan network infrastructure to meet business requirements and industry best practices.
- Support wired/wireless network infrastructure including planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Establish and maintain an appropriate security posture through VLANs, ACLs, firewalls, 802.1X RADIUS, DMZ, DR planning, etc.
- Monitor network performance, analyze data, and proactively address issues to maintain high availability.
- Serve as a member of project teams responsible for network infrastructure and other related areas/initiatives.
- Work with vendors to support the routing/switching and security infrastructure for their devices on our networks.
- Maintain accurate records of configurations, IP addresses, ISP info, and other critical network information within our ITSM platform.
- Install, modify, and make minor repairs to hardware and software.
- Develop and maintain procedures and documentation.
- Support computers, mobile devices, videoconferencing systems, peripherals, and other technologies as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
- Experience with network hardware and software, such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar.
- Familiarity with network security best practices and tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA) are a plus.
