JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Neurology Unit

Shift Timings: Early Morning shift 06:45 - 19:15 Hours

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Unit Capacity: 38 Beds
  • Population Served: Strokes, Neurological disorders, Brain injuries, Brain Tumors, Spine Injuries, Brain and Spine Surgeries, Seizures, Epilepsy, 3 EMU rooms (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) AMS, Dementia, Neuropsychology/Behavioral Health, Med-surg
  • Ages of Patients Served
  • Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+)
  • Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:6
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two years RN Hospital experience required
  • Min 1 year Neurology experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Certification
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification
  • Certification National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
Requirements:
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
