Summary: To be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner, to be able to read a batch ticket / instructions and compound a liquid batch in designated vessel
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate all on-site forklifts
- Identify correctly and pour or pump raw materials in designated vessel utilizing hoses, pumps, scales and lifts
- Operate scales to tare weight and fill containers to designated weight
- Follow work instructions to mix compound and submit samples to Quality
- Able to make adjustments to the batch per Quality guidance
- Able to use mixers to blend materials
- Able to filter batches
- Able to identify correct containers and designated weight, close container with proper lid and tool (if necessary) and apply correct label
- Able to clean all equipment used to pass Quality/GMP standards
- Utilize Sage ERP system to track batches, look up raw material availability and print stock labels (if necessary)
- Read production board to determine batches that need to be made
- Correct batches when given a disposition from Quality
- Identify flammable vs. non-flammable liquids, apply correct labels, and must complete DOT/IATA training once every three years
- Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including, but not limited to, GMP, SQF, OSHA, HAACP, FDA, USDA and internal safety guidelines
- Maintain neat, orderly and clean shop floor and workplace at all times
- Excellent attendance, flexibility, enthusiasm and a positive approach to work performance
- Alert management of issues in a positive manner as well as offer suggestions on improvements
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to read, write and sufficiently communicate in English
- Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing / batching environment preferred
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- In-house fork truck certification is required
- Forklift operation skills preferred
