The team
The co-founders of Bespoke are experts at the cutting edge of AI and data:
- Dr. Mahesh Sathiamoorthy - Former Staff Software engineer at Google DeepMind/Brain, with a deep research background (published at NeurIPS, KDD best paper award, etc.).
- Prof. Alex Dimakis - Professor at UT Austin and Director of the Center of Generative AI, leading initiatives like Datacomp .
About the Role:
As a Founding Software Engineer at Bespoke, you'll play a foundational role in building our cutting-edge data curation platform from the ground up. You will collaborate closely with our team as well as early adopters to invent new technologies that enable enterprises to curate data for post-training AI model fine-tuning. Our work spans the full AI stack, from backend infrastructure to high-level applications. Ideal candidates are problem solvers who can understand the problem in a scientific way and can solve the problem practically.
Tech Stack: Python, GCP, Ray, Kubernetes, NextJS.
What you will do
- Design and develop backend systems for large-scale distributed systems that handle massive datasets and complex AI workflows
- Work on data generation and processing pipelines, creating scalable solutions for enterprise data ingestion and transformation.
- Build and optimize systems to support high throughput data curation and post-tuning at scale.
- Collaborate with AI researchers to implement new features and tools to the platform.
- Help shape the core architecture of Bespoke's platform and contribute to its long-term product vision.
Who you are
- At least 2 years of experience in backend development, particularly in distributed systems and data workflows and generation.
- Proficiency in languages like Python and experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, etc.).
- Deep understanding of large-scale data processing frameworks (e.g. Spark).
- Ability to design systems that scale to handle large volumes of data and complex workflows.
- A self-starter who is excited about working on hard technical problems in AI and data-centric platforms.
- Past experience with open-source projects is a great plus.
- Passionate about data curation.
