CONTEXT

We're looking for an Art Director: Social Media & Brand Marketing, to join our In-House Creative Agency as we continue to build Back Market's mission-driven brand across the globe. Candidates are expected to work a hybrid work arrangement, committing to a minimum of two days per week on-site (Manhattan - Union Square). Due to a need for work during overlapping time zones with France, we are looking for candidates who currently reside in the NY Tri-State area.

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

Join our growing In-House Creative Agency as an Art Director, focusing on Social Media & Brand Marketing. You'll collaborate within an international team, including working with overseas colleagues and your manager, the Senior Lead Art Director.

Key to success in this role are exceptional design craft, fluency and creation skills in the social media space, strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.

Your specialization will be in graphic design, social media creation/design, and brand communications, working on projects from the initial concept to the final product delivery.

Under the supervision of our Senior Lead Art Director, you will support our global Marketing team and cross-functional partners in creating high-craft creativity that resonates around the globe.

Example projects you may work on include:

- Executing the Back Market global design identity across any number of medium, including traditional advertising channels (film, out-of-home, print); digital channels (website, app, digital ads); social media (film, motion & static) and events and experiences

- Co-creating social media content & assets with our in-house social media team, from developing initial concepts to designing the final delivery

- Partnering with external creators including designers, illustrators, animators, filmmakers, builders and more

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF YOU HAVE:
    • Must currently reside in the NY Tri-State area, able to work a hybrid work schedule, and authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship
    • Minimum of 3 years experience at an In-House team and/or Creative agency
    • Ability to understand and apply complex Brand Guidelines effectively
    • A deep understanding of the social media space and how to create for it
    • Closely monitor trends, feedback, and sentiment on our social channels to inform social content.
    • Extensive knowledge and interest in various creative fields (Typography, Photography, Illustration, Fashion, Cinema, etc)
    • You should be skilled in graphic design and typography and also have the ability to do photo editing and motion graphics
    • A friendly, enthusiastic, collaborative and ego-free attitude
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating technical craft and creative edge
    • A keen eye for detail, specifically in typography (e.g., spotting poor kerning)
    • Strong initiative in proposing powerful visual concepts and ideas
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with an international team
    • Strong project management and organization skills.
    • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
    • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
    • Highly proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects)and native social media platform design tools/capabilities

This position has an estimated annual base salary range of $90,000 to $113,000, plus opportunities for equity. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
