Mercy South's Win from Within Program is in partnership with St. Louis Community College & Jefferson College current/potential students only.

One letter of recommendation is required to be considered for this program as well as a copy of the applicants official transcripts which include current GPA at time of application. Please submit all documentation to Christa Allen at Christa.Allen@Mercy.Net. Applications for the Spring semester will be accepted until November 15th.


Overview:

Interprets orders for requested exams, produces Diagnostic medical images in a limited capacity, positions, and transfers patients. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis, selects and operates equipment as directed. Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Responsible for the performance of basic imaging techniques. Must be able to proficiently operate and use equipment related to exams performed, the computerized radiology information system and office equipment. Assists within all areas of radiology as needed. Functions as a cooperative team member on weekend and evening shifts and reports personnel and procedural incidents to the Technologist. Maintains current CPR certification and assists in performing first aid, as necessary. Performs the job duties of transporter as needed. Will be of assistances to the technologist as needed and will always report to and verify images with the technologist on duty. Will perform other duties as required.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Must be a student in an approved School of Radiologic Technology Training and has completed competencies in the basic imaging portion of the curriculum.
  • Experience: Has acquired experience, passed competencies for chest, abdomen, upper and lower extremities, and possesses capability as determined to be adequate for the position.
  • Certifications: BLS is required.
