Optum is a leading provider of quality optometry services for people of all ages. We offer a wide variety of designer frames, contact lenses, advanced lens technology, and expert optometric care to meet the ever-changing needs of our diverse customers. We're currently seeking a licensed optometrist who has the experience to be a leader in our organization and ensure that all patients receive the highest-quality optometric care. The ideal candidate will be empowered with state-of the-art examination equipment, along with cutting-edge medical testing units, to serve the needs of patients while also helping to achieve company growth and success.

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality patient care by conducting all services in accordance with protocols and accepted standards
  • Ensure that patients receive accurate diagnoses and appropriate recommendations that address all of their needs for healthy vision
  • Establish positive doctor-patient relationships while under pressure in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Communicate effectively with medical technicians and office staff to ensure a seamless patient experience
  • Examine patients' eyes to determine the nature and degree of vision problems or eye disease, and prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or procedures
  • Perform pre- and post-op exams for cataract surgery patients
  • Consult with and refer patients to an ophthalmologist when specialized treatment is necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of optometry (OD) degree
  • Current licensure in good standing
  • Knowledge of latest advancements in optometric theory and technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to work long hours

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
